Fukudome Is A Free Agent

Monday, November 12, 2007

Kosuke Fukudome declared for free agency Monday, opening the way for a move to the major leagues. "I'd like to see what kind of interest I get," he said. "We'll see where this goes." For now, I expect a half-dozen teams to be interested, and he will probably make at least 10 million annually.

More details soon...

You got to be kidding! 10mil/year for this guy? He never was dominant or anything in Japan and a couple of homeruns at WBC from a mediocre pitchers won't translate well in MLB... I'm Japanese in Tokyo and know what he's worth after seeing all those JP players previously gone overseas. He won't be much better than Iwamura of Rays. I even feel sorry for Fukudome getting booed at his home game for being such an expensive disappointment...
